A quick Christmas idea this week that I may have shared before, but is worth mentioning again at this time of year.
As the title suggests it’s simply this:
Twist Larry Becker’s classic Will The Cards Match? trick to use Christmas cracker jokes (spelling ‘Will The Jokes Match’ instead). Just hold five cracker joke slips as a packet, carefully tear them in half to separate the set up from the punchline, turn the latter face down, and you’re good to go.
If you don’t mind a bit more prep, and you own Bob King’s Rematch (from Kaymar Magic), then you can make up some cards (or paper slips) and have the jokes initially not match, before magically making them match. This allows you to share some amusingly mismatched non-sequitur jokes, like –
Q: What did Santa go to the doctor?
A: To get to the other side.
If you have young kids of a certain age, you’ll know how much they enjoy making up nonsensical jokes.
As ever, if you give it a go, let me know at wideopenmagic [at] gmail [dot] com
P.S. Christmas Hols Update
I’m taking a week off from posting, as on Friday 25th I’ll be busy devouring Christmas dinner, so my next post will be on Friday 1st January – roll on 2021!
